YWAM Denver Missions Training

YWAM Denver Camp the Rockies Discipleship Training School
Course Description:

Do you love camping, hiking and adventure? So do we! That's why we've designed a one of kind DTS to take advantage of the thousands of acres of rugged mountain terrain sitting on our doorstep. Students who attend the Summer DTS in Denver will experience a truly unique program!

The DTS is an exciting time of drawing near to God. It was designed to provide Christians with the opportunity to take five months away from the pressures and responsibilities of life to focus entirely on Jesus.

During the first twelve weeks, you will be plugged into a schedule that will provide you with time alone with God, small group interaction, classroom teachings, study time, weekly outreaches, fellowship and ministry with local churches and of course, free time to let it all soak in.

As a student, you will participate in weekly outreaches with our YWAM Denver staff to serve the local church and community. Furthermore, to maintain reasonable student costs for our programs, students will be involved in work duties for ten hours each week. This involves a variety of general service tasks, ranging from cooking and cleaning to general maintenance of buildings and grounds.

Following the twelve week lecture phase of DTS, you will complete your DTS requirements by putting what you have learned into practice on the mission field. The eight week outreach will include seven weeks of service in an international setting followed by one week of debriefing back in Denver followed by your graduation. Outreach locations and prices vary and will be presented the first week of your DTS. Check out our possible international outreaches.

Curriculum:
Two weeks of the lecture phase will take place an hour west of Denver in the Rocky Mountains. We'll conduct our regular classroom times of worship and teaching, but with an adapted schedule to incorporate hiking, white-water rafting, mountain climbing, and the opportunity to just sit around the campfire at night and sing to the Lord.

Cabins are available, but you'll need to bring a sleeping bag and tent if you want to sleep out under the stars.

Leading up to the two-week camp-out, we'll be coordinating weekend excursions into the Rockies for those who can't get enough of the 'mountain experience'.
