Successful completion of the Discipleship Training School.

Course Description

The School of Communication provides an introduction to the communication process, including hands-on training in different media. You will explore various formats for sharing the message of Jesus Christ with a perspective that is sensitive to other cultures. We investigate personal and interpersonal communication from a Biblical framework, and practice effective written, verbal and digital strategies to multiply the Christian message.

Let's discover God's perspective of human communication! Together, we will process information through: discussion, application, video, lecture, readings, individual & group projects, demonstration, role-play, creative workshops and public presentations. Applying new study skills and research techniques will enhance our interpersonal insight for clearer communication. You will produce written materials and deliver effective verbal and creative presentations to live audiences.

Curriculum

• Communication: communication models and tools, Biblical world view, cross cultural and creative communication.
• Learning skills: active listening, note taking, creating questions and developing a presentation from planning to implementation.
• Personal development: worship, intercessory prayer, teamwork, fellowship and one-on-one discipleship.
• Interpersonal communication: non-verbal communication, identifying motivation and personal styles of relating with individuals and groups.

Cost

$3,495.00 USD for the twelve-week lecture phase. This cost includes tuition, food, and housing and resources. There is an additional cost for books, personal care and laundry money, extra activities, and personal snacks.
